Okay, so Aria Martin had not been the greatest about hanging out with Paige August since meeting her. The world seemed to be working against them, either between exam and schooling or the other girl's flight schedule, something had always come up. There had been the few odds and ends meet ups, just to say hello, but once summer had come, it had signaled the end. Aria had gone back to London, making it impossible to meet up with the other girl. But now she was back, the school year was starting, and the women's football team was throwing a beach bon fire party at dusk to commemorate it all.
Normally, parties were not her thing any more, or at least, Aria had grown to be rather selective with parties. But her football team was different, she was respected here. Within this team, Aria was a star in her own right and her prickly attitude endured. The young woman was separated from her time with the clique, and she truly felt like her own person. Maybe that's why she had dared to send a text, inviting Paige August to join her at dusk on the beach with the rest of the girls and their friends and dates, oh, and the boy's football team as well. But who cared about them?
Summer had lead to a lot of soul searching for Aria Martin. She finally felt completely over Lyssa Marshall, and Aria had to simply accepted the short lived secret relationship for what it was - exactly that. Lyssa may have been what felt like her first love, even if it had been forbidden, but even Aria had to come to terms with moving on. She had tried, during the summer, she hung out with boys, she kissed, she tried everything. But it never felt, well, right. It just seemed off, none of them felt like her time with Lyssa. None of their touches sparked her. Deep down, there was probably more to it. Like how a pretty girl on the streets of London distracted her.
But all of those thoughts were tossed to the side for now when she saw Paige arrive, and possibly overdressed. Aria simply smiled though, and waved wildly, "Paige! Over here!"

It was odd making friends with Aria. The two hadn't seen each other in what seemed like forever. She was pleasantly surprised when the other woman invited her to a bonfire. After a discussion with her mother on what to wear, she ended up in a t-shirt and skirt combo, a style she would really only wear while at work. Paige got herself ready and headed off towards the car.
The beach seemed like the perfect place for a fire - though she didn't know what to think about hanging out with the Secondary School Football team. She was going to feel way too old for the crowd, but it was a nice invitation. The brunette pulled into the parking lot with her car and headed towards the beach. Her sandals crunched against the sand, her dark eyes glanced around looking for Aria. It only took a few moments for her to hear the woman's familiar voice, turning in the direction of the voice.
She approached with a smile, opting to stand next to Aria. "Hi! Long time no see. How have you been? How was London?" She glanced at Aria's outfit, wondering if she was too overdressed. As she didn't go to University, she didn't know what the typical student would wear to an event like this.
Brown eyes watched as Paige caught sight of her - she looked cute, and stood out against her teammates with their sportier fair, but it wouldn't be long before other invitees would show up and Paige wouldn't quite stick out. Aria decided it was best to not make any comment, although she did wonder if the other girl would get cold. While she herself probably couldn't talk, she was wearing shorts after all, her double jacket ensemble was a different matter compared to Paige's air-y shirt. Well, if Paige got cold today, they'd cross that line when they had to.
She grinned, "I know! Been three months, yeah?" Maybe even a bit longer than that, but neither of them were really counting, "London was good though. Nice to be back with my family, get a break from here and the people." It suddenly dawned on Aria how awkward that sounded, "Like, not you or any of the girls here on the team." The popular people who made her life hell. But after a summer away, the young woman knew she wasn't going to stand for that shit anymore, "What about you? Did you go galivanting off to any exciting places?"

Paige quickly realized she didn't actually ask what the dress code was for a University party. She also realized she was going to be one of the oldest ones there - thankful that she looked about the same age as the rest of them. As she approached Aria, Paige quickly noticed that Aria was also wearing shorts and something a bit more casual.
"Has it really been that long? Gosh, time does seem to fly." It felt to her as if the year had just started, though they were already in the Summer months, which meant that her work schedule was picking up with all the tourists coming and going. Paige waved off the comment, knowing what the other woman had meant. "That must have been nice. Did you do anything exciting with your family?" Paige smiled, knowing there was always something fun to do in London. She had an easy enough time killing time if she had a layover there.
"I feel like I went all over the place. Kyoto, Florida, New York and South Africa to name a few." Paige knew she was lucky to fly all over the world and get paid for it. Some people did come up to her and say they envied her job, but it wasn't all glorious. "Excited for classes to start again soon?"
Was it just her or did Paige actually seem a bit nervous? Aria wasn't sure as to why, until she noticed how the other girl was stealing some looks at the others as well as Aria's outfit. Ah. Now it made sense, Paige had worried about overdressing. The young woman couldn't help but to find that a funny thing to worry over, but reminded herself that Page had been living a different life since she finished her secondary school. Her attention snapped to the now though, as the willowy girl stopped in front of her now, ready to talk.
Laughter escaped Aria, beaming a smile, feeling rather relaxed compared to her usual uptight self, "Yeah. Nice pun by the way." Somehow, she doubted that Paige meant to pull that one off, but one could never be to sure. She watched as the other young woman waved her off her last comment, almost regally, yet unlike with Lyssa or any of the Clique, it didn't quite give Aria a foreboding feeling like her world was about to end. Instead, everything felt just...well, fine, "Ah. No. Not with my family. Mostly hung out with my friends though and...I don't know. Relaxing. Rediscovering myself? Last year at Uni was kina...eh, crazy for me. Some soul searching helped."
Aria wasn't entirely sure if she exactly discovered everything about herself, she was still moody, still ocd and prickly, just...a little less so, and more open to real and authentic friendships compared ot the shit she had last year. She listened to Pagie's tales about where she had flown too, and brown eyes widen at all the name drops, "Oh wow. Tell me your favorite then. Anywhere you'd want to go back to?" She barely knew the girl, and yet Aria couldn't help but to feel a pang that Paige could just whisk off at any time. She burried that thought though, it did her no good. She nodded, "Yeah. Excited for classes and soccer. People...not so much. But...someone who was giving me issues moved away and switched schools, so I'm feeling pretty good about my social standings. And you? Just more flying to look forward to or do you have other things coming up in your social schedule?"

The small darker haired woman came from a family where overdressing was often an issue. Being the daughter of a diplomat meant looking put together - even at a beach bonfire party with a bunch of University students. She just didn't fit in, though something about Aria brought her here to hang out.
Paige didn't realize she had made a pun, but it made her laugh along with her friend. "Whoops, didn't know I could come up with the dad jokes. Honestly, it's a miracle sometimes that I know what day it is." She didn't have a regular 9-5 job or one that was weekdays only. If it wasn't for the calendar on her phone, she would be lost.
"Oh, I apologize if your parents are a touchy subject. Do you not get along with them or something?" Her and her parents got along, though she had the out of living in Ama and Christian's pool house and not with them. "I don't miss the school drama let me tell you, at the end if it I was sick of being the new girl. Did your soul searching work?" She didn't want to get too personal with someone she was hanging out with for the second time. Some people felt like they could open up to her though - she had that air about her. "That's a pretty hard question. I'm going to say Bali. The white sand beaches and waves crashing along the shore. The things you think about in your dreams to escape reality." Oh, she forgot to mention the lovely tropical fruits and the resorts that have huts for rent on the water...
Paige raised her eyebrow with the mention of social status. She forgot what it was like to be in school - fighting for hierarchy and all that. "Don't tell me you got this person kicked out?" She knew how catty girls could be when it came to being Queen Bee - though she never stayed anywhere long enough for her to establish herself. "I do have a few places I'm looking forward to going, though there is the annual Halloween Ball the Consulate puts on and a few of the Fall competitions with my horse Juno." Just because Summer was coming to an end, didn't mean the shows just stopped. Her and Juno were just getting into Dressage as cart driving wasn't exactly popular in the UK.
"Any classes at University you are looking forward to attending?"
